I’m delighted to announce that Mazda Foundation has joined us as our first new national partner for 2015.
The Mazda Foundation has agreed to award $500,000 over three years to fund the recruitment, training and development of Special Olympics Australia coaches. Specifically the funding is being provided for us to:
develop and implement a coach retention and recruitment strategy implement training and accreditation programs develop a module for coaching athletes with an intellectual disability.
Special Olympics Australia and Mazda Foundation will officially launch the partnership later this month.
This is a great way to start 2015 and I hope to share more good news with you throughout the year as we continue to seek and nurture partnership opportunities that support the development of sport for people with an intellectual disability.
